I always thought BBW was more a dating site term. Plus sized kinda refers more to a clothing size in my mind.

I guess I hate labels in general as I can't honestly com up with one I would prefer.

I prefer the term plus size to bbw. When I was doing my research to get into blogging two years ago the term bbw was to closly linked with porn. Though my preference is for a larger woman I wasn't running a porn blog so as a business venture I elected the use of plus size. In my conversations with ladies plus size relates to clothing while bbw relates to size. I guess it depends on your motivation as to what terms are used.

It would be nice to see fashion shows that are not "plus Size" fashion shows. The industry is just getting to the point that plus size models are being seen at all.

I totally understand your need for taller models. For any of your customers who might be concerned about the length of the pieces, you can get them hemmed at a tailor for almost next to nothing. Since your prices are really reasonable, this is a definately feasible option. :-)

Thanks, Sharon, for noticing my error! I fixed it-- the photoshoot will be all day Saturday. Also, I hate putting any kind of restrictions on height or size, but in order to shoot some items (like long gowns), we have certain specific needs.

While I would not be interrested in being a model at this time, although I am a little short for you guys, I wanted to say you may have to clarify your post. It says both the 29th and 28th of April.

Cheers to you for being at the forefront of this revolution! It makes me happy every day to read about people learning how to love their bodies, and to find a community where we can all talk about fat without embarrassment or harassment.

It makes sense, too, that women needed some fat on their bodies to withstand the cold, protect pregnancy, etc. Think about the technological advances we've had to discover, like air conditioning and heating, that have afforded women the opportunity to starve themselves for "aesthetic" reasons.

P.S. Diet pills are not the answer. They don't work. I once was dumb enough to try them. In my opinnion it is all a scam to get your money. If you want to lose weight excercise and a healthy eating program is all you need.

I aplaude people like Naomie Campbell who are refusing to listen to the media any more. I am glad that many of the pro models are becoming more normal sized. When will designers clue in that if they want to sell they have to design for what the public's physical atributes are like.
